Selection Process

Selection will be made by three judges selected from the Dayton Section of ASQ. The criteria for evaluation and selection includes the following: (Note: The criteria are not listed in order of importance.)

  1. Career plans as indicated in the essays: "How Quality Relates and Applies to My Chosen Career Field" and ‘How I Plan to Apply Quality Concepts in the Future’ that indicate the applicant's desire to apply quality concepts to improve operations/processes in his/her chosen field.
  2. Knowledge and depth of the understanding of quality as demonstrated in the essays.
  3. The individual's ability and intention to contribute to the quality culture as indicated in the essays.
  4. Academic accomplishments or educational experience related to quality (courses, seminars, ASQ meetings).
  5. Employment experience related to quality.
  6. Extracurricular activities and other accomplishments as described.
Award Presentation
The award is given to the recipients at the Dayton ASQ Section Meeting as part of the Student program at the March 2012 ASQ Meeting (luncheon, program, and scholarships presented.) The Dayton Section of ASQ will award up to $2000 in scholarships among multiple recipients. You do not have to be an ASQ student member to apply.

NOTE: The application must be received before 12:00 noon on Friday, March 2, 2012 to the appropriate school representative. School Representative contact information is listed on the last page of the Application Form.
